What we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it. Compliance is the piece we never leave loose.
1. What we collect
When you contact us or book a consultation, we collect what you give us: your name, email, company, and whatever you tell us about your setup. When you browse the site, we collect basic technical data such as your browser type and the pages you visit, so we can keep everything working.
2. How we use it
We use your details to reply to you, prepare quotes, deliver the work, and keep the records we need for tax and warranty. We don’t use your information to spam you, and we don’t make automated decisions about you.
3. Cookies & analytics
A small number of cookies keep the site working; those are always on. Analytics is not: nothing is measured until you accept it on the consent banner. If you do, we use Google Analytics to see, in aggregate, which pages people find useful. We don’t sell that data, you can decline or change your mind at any time, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser whenever you like.
4. The tools we rely on
Three third-party services help us run this site. Google Firebase stores the messages you send through our forms, on Google’s servers in the United States. Google Analytics, only if you’ve consented, tells us which pages get read. Sentry, an error-monitoring service, catches it when something on the site breaks, and holds that technical data on servers in the European Union.
That means some data leaves Kenya: form submissions to the United States, and error reports to the European Union, in each case under the provider’s standard data-protection terms. We share only what each tool needs to do its job.
5. Sharing
Beyond those tools, we share your information only where it’s needed to do the work, for example with a supplier we’re sourcing a device from, or a courier delivering it, and only the part they need. We never sell your data.
6. Retention
We keep your information for as long as we’re working together and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can honour warranties, meet our tax obligations, and pick up where we left off if you come back. After that, we delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and we’ll act on that within a reasonable time. If you’d rather we stopped contacting you, just say the word.
8. Contact us
For anything about your data, whether a question, a correction, or a deletion, email us at info@gett.africa, call +254 712 619 962, or write to Gett Telecommunications, P.O. Box 9246–30100, Eldoret, Kenya, and we’ll take it from there.
